Blue Dansette
Verse 1
In 1968 I came home from summer break
My folks said we've something to show you that's great
While I was gone they cleared the backyard shed
Turned it into a music room instead
I walked into the den, you know I'll never forget
I heard a record playing on a Blue Dansette
Verse 2
In 1965 I'd seen The Beatles live
Couldn't see or hear for all the screaming beehives
Now I had the albums I could play them loud
Singing along I never felt so proud
I knew it was a feeling that I'd never forget
Listening to those LPs on my Blue Dansette
Bridge
And now I had a room to call my own
Where I could simply be
I’d play those songs again & again
I knew that music was the key
Verse 3
In 1969 Sugar Sugar sounded fine
A man on the moon was in the TV Times
Radio was playing Something In The Air
A new decade arrived In The Summertime glare
And when the day was done you know I’ll never forget
Stacking up those singles on my Blue Dansette
Verse Instrumental
Bridge
But all good things must come to an end
Or so it seems to me
We bought a deck from the hi-fi store
The world was turning Japanese
Verse 4
Many years on and the music’s going strong
Just when I thought that the player had gone
Well now it’s reborn so never forget
You can play your vinyl on a new Dansette
Now you can play your vinyl on a new Dansette
Now you can play your vinyl on your Blue Dansette

Whiskey-A-Go-Go
Verse 1
It was one o'clock in the mornin'
Under a neon Soho sign
Some people say those streets are paved with gold
Some say it's rain that makes them shine
Verse 2
I was coming down from the bandstand
And the audience applause
Although it was so many years ago
It seems the curtain never falls
PreChorus
'cos I can hear the banging of the drum still ringing in my ear
Chorus
Stepping out from the Whiskey-A-Go-Go
Out into the bitter sweet air
I couldn't tell where my footsteps were going
I only know I'm still getting there
Stepping out from the Whiskey-A-Go-Go
Out into the shadow it cast
I didn't know where those four winds were blowing
But I knew that the memory would last
And the memory still lasts
Verse 3
Now it's one o'clock in the morning
And my glass is all drunk dry
I fill my songs with heady words
And try to reach that same old high
PreChorus
'cos I still hear the crashing of the cymbals ringing in my ear
Chorus
Bridge
Well time’s moved on and nothing’s changed
‘cos the music always kept me sane
There’s some you win and some you lose
I'm standin' on this stage once again and singin’ out these blues
Chorus (half tacet)

Tell Me It's You
Verse 1
When I ask if there is someone who would hold my hand
Tell Me It's You
I can see that you are kind and you would understand
So Tell Me It's You
Verse 2
When I ask if there's a girl who wants to hold me tight
Tell Me It's You
I don't want nobody else to hold me close tonight
So Tell Me It's You
Bridge
Tell Me It's You
'cos you're the only one
And if it's true
Our love could be such fun Ooh!
Verse 3
So when I ask you who could love me for eternity
Tell Me It's You
I don't need another girl to share this life with me
So Tell Me It's You
Instrumental
Bridge
Verse 3
